Art Nouveau in my Garden, the Botanicals.

As Spring turned to summer the flowers in my garden changed. I have always loved colour and have spent the last two years developing an herbaceous border full of flowers to cut for the house. Beneath the trees at the back of the garden is my quiet zone filled with white flowers and a variety of ferns. It catches the evening sun and is a perfect spot for a late coffee and perhaps a small whiskey.
Plants were always a subject for the artists and architects of the Art Nouveau period. I love the sinuous lines, the symmetry and the botanical motifs. As I was taking my base photographs I looked for the curves and swirls and in the processing I searched for the natural combinations of shape, colour and light. What a joy!
